The Dorothy Hill Women in Earth and Envrionmental Sciences Symposium was held within the Steele Building and the GCI Building at The University of Queensland, St Lucia Campus.
The UQ St Lucia Campus is located seven kilometres upstream from the Brisbane CBD and is readily accessible by ferry (CityCat) and bus. Situated on an expansive 114 hectare site, the Campus is host to world class teaching and research facilities, heritage listed architecture, an art museum and various sports and recreational facilities.
Buses run regularly to UQ's St Lucia campus, including routes 28, 66, 139, 169, 192, 209, 402, 411, 412, 428 and 432 (current as at 2021).
The UQ bus stops are located at Chancellor's Place (near the J. D. Story Building) and UQ lakes (via the Eleanor Schonell Bridge). The CityCat (river ferry) terminal is located within a short walk from the conference buildings.
We recommend using the MyTransLink App, which can be downloaded from both the App Store and Google Play or by using the Journey planner on the TransLink website (www.translink.com.au).
Limited visitor car parking is available during semester at St Lucia campus. Full information regarding parking can be found on the Parking at UQ information page.
Find everything you need on campus using the UQ Maps app. Use the indoor and outdoor maps or try wayfinding to navigate directly to your next class, meeting, meal or study spot. Use live information to find parking spaces or see how busy the library is, or follow the well-lit paths to travel safely at night.
UQ Maps is free to download for staff, students and visitors to campus.
UQ SafeZone is an easy-to-use, location-based application for mobile devices that connects staff and students directly with UQ security officers or emergency services during any type of first aid or emergency situation on UQ campuses and sites, providing the user has mobile phone or wifi coverage. It is freely available to staff, students and independent contractors working on campus. Find out more.
