Hon Shannon Fentiman, MP

Minister for Training and Skills Development, Queensland

Elected in 2015 as the Member for Waterford, Shannon Fentiman is Queensland’s Minister for Employment and Small Business, Minister for Training and Skills Development and Ministerial Champion for Torres Strait.

Delivering the government’s commitment to creating jobs for Queenslanders and supporting small businesses to reach their full potential are Shannon’s main priorities. Shannon is also working to ensure that Queenslanders have the skills they need to fill the jobs of the future.

Prior to her current portfolio, Shannon also served as the Minister for Communities, Child Safety, Women and Youth and the Minister for the Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence. Shannon Fentiman holds a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Hons) from QUT and completed her Master of Laws at Melbourne University. She was admitted as a Legal Practitioner in 2007 and prior to her election to parliament she worked as an employment lawyer.
