Public Transport

If you are staying downtown, you can hop on and off the free Central Area Transit (CAT) buses that run daily in the city centre. CAT bus stops also have real-time route information that keeps you informed about bus arrival times.

Similarly, travel for free on any bus within the city’s free transit zone (FTZ). When travelling outside the Perth FTZ, however, do buy a ticket on board or pay with a SmartRider card.

If you prefer to travel on water, you could catch the scenic Transperth ferry service between Elizabeth Quay Jetty and Mends St Jetty near the Perth Zoo. This ferry route runs long hours daily.
