The Symposium connected female and male leaders in the Earth and Environmental Sciences in industry, government and academia.
An important benefit of attending the Symposium is the networking that happens when face-to-face. This has been key to the success of the Symposium. The Symposium will be held from Monday 7 November to Wednesday 9 November 2022. Monday afternoon kick started the event with a Meet & Mingle networking event; Tuesday and Wednesday were the technical sessions and all-important networking during the refreshment breaks; and the optional Symposium Dinner was held on Tuesday night at Customs House.
We had a wonderful line up of speakers.
How can you be involved?
Look forward to seeing you all in-person on 7 - 9 November 2022.

I am not aware of anything else like the Dorothy Hill Symposium, so can't really compare it to anything else. The strong focus on making new connections and allowing the time for us to do that, and on everyone helping each other is unique in my experience of geoscience symposia. I am already looking forward to the next one.
An amazing conference - one of the best I have been to. I walked away proud to be a geoscientist and confident of the ever increasing opportunities for women in Earth Sciences.
Every topic discussed during the symposium was absolutely amazing. I loved to see how the speakers were strong enough to share their own life experiences and challenges during the development of their careers. Also, it was very interesting to see the statistics regarding the presence of men and women in sciences and the different challenges in career related to gender.
I enjoyed the diversity of talks and that all speakers gave excellent context for their work and explained most things for a broad audience. There was also a good mix of speakers from different career stages. The panel discussions were also excellent and one of the first times I've seen and heard women discuss their careers, leadership and challenges in a full and frank way, probably as a direct consequence of the supportiveness of all attendees and the general non-competitive atmosphere of the meeting.
